Stabilization of Immoboilized Proteins
Plastic surfaces are commonly coated with proteins such as antibodies or antigens for the purpose of immunoassay. Unfortunately, when dehydrated, these proteins commonly denature and become non-functional or recognizable. Immunoassay Post Coat Stabilizing Buffer is a polyhydroxyl containing buffer used to stabilize immobilized proteins on plastic surfaces. After application, it will leave a film residue on the surface which will remain as a protective barrier against dehydration and render the surface stable for long periods of time. Typically this is 18 months at 4°C.
Directions for Use:
- Decant and exhaustively water wash microwell blocking or coating buffers used.
- Add the equivalent volume of Immunoassay Stabilizing Post Coating Buffer as was used to coat the wells, e.g. 100ul.
- Incubate the wells for at least one hour at room temperature.
- Decant the wells and allow to drain by pounding them and inverting them on clean absorbent paper towels.
- Place the microwells in zip lock bags preferably with desicant packs.
- Store at 4-8°C. The resulting coated microwell plates are normally stable for greater than 18 months
